Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Medical-Surgical Nursing Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 7 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM, 12-hour shifts, straight nights or day / night rotation, every other weekend and holiday Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 1 year recent medical-surgical experience required;
experience with surgical oncology patients preferred License : Active RN license in a compact state or applicable state Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) - must be American Heart Association (AHA) certified Must-Have : - Experience with EPIC - Experience working in larger hospitals (200 beds minimum), level 2 or higher trauma center Job Description : - Provide care for medical-surgical and surgical oncology patients.
- Collaborate with inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. - Demonstrate competency and practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and knowledge.
- Utilize appropriate age and population-specific standards as designated in assigned clinical settings. - Operate equipment utilized in the unit, including EMR (Epic), AccuDose, Bladder Scanner, Phillips monitors, and Telemetry.
- Be open to floating to other medical-surgical units across different campuses as needed. - Participate in a unit / department-specific training and orientation program consisting of 1 day of lead center training and 2 twelve-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.
- Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6 : 1 during the night shift. - Adhere to the dress code of navy blue scrubs.
