POSITION SUMMARY :

Provides direct security and related public services.

Responsibilities

Our Healthcare Security Officers are responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the hospital, its staff, and its patients and visitors and serve as a visible deterrent to illegal activities on hospital property.

Our Security Officers also provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Completed High School Diploma or GED
• Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certifications
• Strong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Must be able to stand and / or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to lbs., help restrain or lift a person
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet HSS a Tarian company's driving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles)

Desired Qualification of the Security Officer :

Previous work experience with the public in a service setting

Armed (Handgun) Qualifications :

• At least years of age
• Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a weapon
• Ability to pass the initial and semi-annual HSS a Tarian company's approved firearms training course to demonstrate proficiency in use of firearm
• Ability to participate and meet the requirements of additional firearms training at the discretion of the firearms instructor
• Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the HSS a Tarian company's Firearms policies

TASER Qualifications :

• Ability to meet qualification standards when initially placed in a TASER position and annually thereafter
• Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a TASER
• Ability to participate in and pass additional TASER training at the discretion of the TASER instructor

and / or HSS a Tarian company

Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the HSS a Tarian company's Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER), HSS a Tarian company's Taser Policy

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

• While performing this job, individual will walk, stand, sit, observe and drive for extended periods of time in various weather conditions;
• run, climb stairs, and carry fire extinguishers or other emergency equipment; help restrain or lift a person; occasionally lift and / or move up to pounds;
• frequently required to use hands, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear; specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus;

self-motivation and ability to work independent of immediate supervision. May be required to drive a vehicle.
