The Center for Behavioral and Mental Health at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in conjunction with the Department of Pediatrics, Emory University School of Medicine, are expanding mental health services for medically complex children.

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist with experience in treating eating disorders in children and adolescents as well as their families.

This position is eligible for a faculty appointment through the Emory University School of Medicine, if desired.

The psychologist will work within the Children's general outpatient clinic as well as possibly within a medical stabilization inpatient service.

Within these environments, evidence-based evaluation and treatment of a diverse population of children is provided for a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, atypical anorexia, and avoidant / restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID).

The psychologist will participate in program development and lead a combination of individual, family, and group therapy treatment.

The psychologist will independently perform procedures, collect and analyze clinical data, and make decisions regarding patient care (e.

g., initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, and prognosis).

  • Psychologists work closely with child and adolescent psychiatrists, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners, behavioral and mental health therapists (LCSWs and LPCs), and nurse case managers to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for each patient.
  • Psychologists participate in the training of psychology doctoral interns and postdoctoral fellows as well other behavioral mental health trainees.

The psychologist may also provide supervision and leadership for master's level clinicians within the eating disorders program.

Faculty rank is commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time position, with split between direct clinical care and administrative time.

Candidates should have experience with evidence-based treatment for eating disorders including family-based treatment (FBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT;

experience with DBT and ACT would be optimal).

  • Applicants should have a Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA / CPA accredited program and must have completed an APA accredited child internship.
  • This position is open to both early career and experienced psychologists. Applicants should be licensed or licensed-eligible in Georgia prior to employment and must obtain board certification within hospital timelines.
