PET / CT Technologist

In this role you will :
- Administer radioactive chemical compounds.
- Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
- Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement.
- Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
- Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during the scan, reporting abnormal signs to Physicians.
- Perform complex PET exams, consulting with a Radiologist for appropriate scan procedures.
- Gain the patient's confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure, and answering any questions
- Monitor the patient's physical condition during the procedure.
- Note any specific patient comments that might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure.
- Keep track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans. Be careful or consider safety measures because patients and operators are constantly exposed to rays.
- To safeguard, PET Technologists have to make sure that the equipment is in proper working condition. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment carefully.
We require :
- Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and / or ARRT-N)
- NMTCB(CT) and / or ARRT(CT)
- NYS License.
- At least 2 years’ experience
Salary Up to $55 per hour
