In this role you will :

  • Administer radioactive chemical compounds.
  • Perform patient imaging procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation.
  • Accomplish computer processing and image enhancement.
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and reactions during the scan, reporting abnormal signs to Physicians.
  • Perform complex PET exams, consulting with a Radiologist for appropriate scan procedures.
  • Gain the patient's confidence by obtaining pertinent history, describing the procedure, and answering any questions
  • Monitor the patient's physical condition during the procedure.
  • Note any specific patient comments that might indicate the need for additional images or might be useful to the physician in interpreting the results of the procedure.
  • Keep track of safety measures to protect patients while performing scans. Be careful or consider safety measures because patients and operators are constantly exposed to rays.
  • To safeguard, PET Technologists have to make sure that the equipment is in proper working condition. Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment carefully.

We require :

  • Diploma from a Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB and / or ARRT-N)
  • NMTCB(CT) and / or ARRT(CT)
  • NYS License.
  • At least 2 years’ experience

Salary Up to $55 per hour
