About The Position
Weekly Pay Range - $2029 To $2254 Job Title : Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty : Respiratory Therapy Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour days Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : As required License : Respiratory Care Practitioner License in the state Certifications : - Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care - Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Must-Have : - Successful completion of a respiratory therapy program from an accredited school - Basic electronic medical record documentation skills - Understanding of the Drug-Free Campus policy through a negative drug screen.
Job Description : Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by the prescribing physician, appropriate for all ages with advanced knowledge of adult populations.
- Administer medical gases, medications, airway clearance, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory modalities.- Monitor levels of supplies and equipment for department and patient care areas.
- Apply theoretical knowledge for the care of pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients.- Demonstrate competence in respiratory skills, problem-solving, and critical thinking suitable for various patient age groups.
- Perform life-sustaining interventions during emergent situations including Rapid Response calls and serve as the primary airway manager during critical events.
- Initiate and manage mechanical ventilation, including advanced modes, independently.- Assess the effectiveness of therapy and recommend changes based on patient response.
- Document interventions and patient responses per regulatory requirements and guidelines.- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team through rounds in critical care settings.
- Adhere to policies and procedures within the scope of the Respiratory Therapy Practice Act. Physical & Mental Requirements : Ability to lift objects weighing up to 60 pounds daily.
- Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time.- Ability to stoop, bend, reach, grab, and possess manual dexterity.- Ability to communicate clearly and possess color vision.
- Ability to push or pull equipment and assist with patient positioning daily.- Regular proofreading and checking of documents for accuracy.
