The Interdepartmental Program in the Study of Religion at the University of California, Los Angeles is seeking a part-time Lecturer to teach one course on the History of Study of Religion during the Spring 2022 academic quarter.
This course examines how study of religion has interacted with other academic fields, especially biblical studies, anthropology, sociology, psychology, and evolutionary biology.
Applicants must have a PhD in Religions Studies or related fields, and should have experience teaching in a university setting.
The ideal candidate should have knowledge of major modern theories, methods, and approaches to study of religion to situate them within their own historical, philosophical, and social contexts.
