The Community Outreach and Engagement Specialist plays a pivotal role in connecting our agency with the community we serve and advancing our mission to support and empower individuals and communities in need.
This position requires a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills, a passion for social services, and the ability to engage diverse communities effectively.
Position Details :Key Responsibilities
- Participate in outreach activities and events, including resource fairs and community events, promoting services and representing The Help Group agency.
- Create and maintain collaborative partnerships with community organizations and agencies.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage diverse communities.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, local businesses, schools, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Scout and secure locations for program events.
- Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and forums to promote our services.
- Conduct outreach activities both in-person and through digital platforms.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of outreach efforts with organizational goals.
- Provide support and resources to individuals seeking assistance.
- Collect and analyze data on outreach activities to inform future strategies.
- Develop culturally sensitive materials to effectively reach diverse communities.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and networking events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, public health, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in community outreach, engagement, or social services.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with diverse populations.
- Knowledge of community resources and social service systems.
- Experience in event planning and networking.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Bilingual or multilingual proficiency preferred.
