About Video Creation Team : Our team's mission is to empower TikTok users to turn creativity into reality via videos. We build the core video creation product to support tens of millions of TikTok creators every day.

All the viral props and effects you find on TikTok are developed by us, using cutting edge technologies like AIGC and Generative AI.

Our goal is to build the world's best video creation software. In this team, you will be working with our XFN partners to define a world-class video creation experience, designing the architecture of TikTok video creation tools and pipelines, and shipping cutting-edge features to take TikTok to the next level.

Job Overview : As a Senior Backend Engineer on the TikTok Creative Tools Team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and robust backend systems to support the creative tools and functionalities used by millions of users worldwide.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including mobile developers, product managers, and designers, to ensure seamless integration of the backend with mobile applications.

Your technical expertise will directly impact the creative experience of TikTok users and content creators.

Responsibilities : Design and develop backend services and APIs to power the creative tools and features on the TikTok platform.

Collaborate with product managers and mobile developers to understand user needs and product requirements, and translate them into well-designed backend solutions.

Stay up-to-date with the latest backend development, AIGC and Generative AI technologies, and incorporate them into the product development process, ensuring our creative tools stay at the forefront of the industry.

Ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems to handle high traffic and support a large user base.

Implement data storage and retrieval mechanisms to support content creation, editing, and sharing.Identify and address security vulnerabilities to protect user data and ensure the integrity of the platform.

Work on optimizing database queries and caching strategies to improve system efficiency and response times.Participate in code reviews and technical discussions to maintain code quality and promote best practices within the team.

Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues and bugs, ensuring the stability and smooth operation of the platform.

QualificationsRequirements : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

At least 5 years of practical experience in backend development, with a strong command of one or more programming languages like Java, Python, or Go.

Proven experience in designing and developing scalable backend systems for high-traffic applications.Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructures (e.

g., AWS, Google Cloud) and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Solid understanding of database systems and data modeling, as well as proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases.

Experience with RESTful API design and implementation, and understanding of microservices architecture.Knowledge of security best practices and data protection measures for backend systems.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.Excellent team player with good communication and collaboration skills.

Job Information : For Pay Transparency :

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $210000 - $358000 annually.Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.

Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses / incentives, and restricted stock units.
