POSITION DESCRIPTION :
The Employment Case Manager position will report directly to the Employment Program Manager and will join the Employment Program team.
REC's employment program is designed to help refugees who have been in the United States for less than 5 years gain access to employment.
We are hiring someone who has a demonstrated passion for working with refugees, has a working knowledge of the Omaha job market, and can work in a fast-paced environment with clients and teammates from many different cultural and national backgrounds.
CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION :
Recruitment and Enrollment
- Complete intake, enrollment, and agreements
- Copy and file eligibility documents
- Create a self-sufficiency budget and plan
- Collect background information and assess employment barriers
- Set employment goals with clients
Data Management
- Create and update client profiles in the database
- Write and maintain case notes
- Complete forms and update training / employment records
Direct Client Service
- Assist with job applications and teach clients to apply independently
- Provide and coordinate transportation for job applications, interviews, and initial employment
- Follow up on applications and interviews
- Support clients with transportation and orientation during their first days on the job
- Help clients arrange ongoing transportation if needed
- Conduct follow-up meetings or calls at 30, 60, and 90 days
- Collect copies of clients' paycheck stubs for proper reporting
Team Participation and Representation
- Attend team and office meetings on time and with full attention, participate in collective team and office efforts, comply with all ILC+REC and local office policies and practices.
- Represent ILC+REC and its programs positively to the community, and contribute to community committees and working groups as applicable
- Other essential activities that promote the organization's mission
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Dedication to ILC+REC's Core Values and Mission.
- Some education in social work, social services, human services preferred.
- 2 - 5 years of experience providing case management services is preferred.
- Experience, either professional or lived, with refugees or immigrants
- Excellent oral and written English and Spanish language skills
- Ability to work nights and weekends : Most work is performed between 9 : 00 a.m. and 5 : 00 p.m. weekdays; however occasional weekend or evening work is required when taking clients to job interviews outside standard work hours.
These hours are flexed to still ensure a 40-hour week.
- Working knowledge of Omaha's employment opportunities and employment needs.

- Self-starter with excellent integrity, combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and case file documentation.
- Proficient in using the computer -including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook)- and the ability to use the internet and other digital tools to perform employment searches using Google and other job boards.
- Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Workdays pertain to a Monday - Friday schedule with no weekends required unless otherwise specified.

- Pay rate of $22.88 per hour
