The YMCA of Greater Richmond is currently seeking a highly motivated, mission-driven, team-oriented professional to help lead the aquatics department at the Shady Grove Family YMCA.

DUTIES of an Associate Aquatics Director
The Associate Aquatics Director will be responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of aquatics programs, with a focus on swim lessons, water safety days, Learn to Swim, and aquatics events.
Specific responsibilities include developing and implementing programs; coordination and scheduling of swim lessons and other programs;
on deck supervision of programs and lifeguards; and teaching their own group swim lessons or providing in-water support for instructors teaching lessons throughout the week.
The Associate Aquatics Director will work closely and collaboratively with other departments to engage members and provide excellent service, as well as partnering with schools and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS of an Associate Aquatics Director
A bachelor's degree is preferred, and at least one year of related experience in aquatics is required. Candidates should have excellent verbal and written communication skills;
interpersonal abilities and computer proficiency are necessary. The ability to effectively coach staff is essential. Candidates should have the ability and expect to work regular evenings and weekends.
The following certifications are required (YMCA can assist in obtaining required certifications) :
CPR- Pro / AED / First Aid / O2 required
Current YMCA / Red Cross / Ellis lifeguard certification required; LGI preferred

Salary : $37,000-39,000. Based on experience and qualifications.
