Coatings Expert – Structural Steel

📍 Pickens, SC | 🏗️ Full-Time | 💰 Competitive Pay + Benefits

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all coating operations : surface prep, mixing, and application.
  • Inspect coatings for thickness, adhesion, coverage, and prep quality.
  • Maintain / test inspection tools (DFT gauges, adhesion testers).
  • Train / mentor team members in coatings and safety practices.
  • Track coating supply inventory and compliance records.
  • Enforce safety protocols for paints, solvents, and blasting equipment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in industrial coatings, painting, or surface prep (steel / marine / heavy industrial).
  • Knowledge of epoxies, zinc, and high-performance coatings.
  • NACE / SSPC certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Familiar with coating inspection tools & standards.
  • Forklift / overhead crane experience a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Schedule : Mon–Fri, 6 : 00 a.m.–4 : 30 p.m. (weekends as needed).
  • Overtime available.
  • Full-time, exempt.
