JOB RESPONSIBILITIES-

Registered Nurse Manager - Critical Care Unit

RN MGR - CCU

Full-Time

Registered Nurse Manager candidates for the Critical Care Unit will have the following job responsibilities :

Is accountable for the delivery of high-quality nursing care and for the administrative management of the nursing unit on a 24-hour basis.

Fulfills all duties and responsibilities associated with the Nurse Manager position.

  • Selects, trains, orients, develops, and evaluates the performance of department staff. Ensures staffing mix and allocation following departmental guidelines.
  • Develop departmental budgets. Administers operations by budgeted parameters.
  • Maintains operational reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  • Coordinates and reports the outcome of nursing activities performed on behalf of the patient.
  • Establishes and maintains communication between the nursing unit, medical staff, and ancillary departments for problem-solving and quality improvement.

Utilizes appropriate lines of communication within the facility.

  • Ensures establishing and implementing unit goals and objectives align with the facility and system.
  • Promotes a safe environment that allows for the delivery of high-quality patient care utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Protects patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications.
  • Supervises, institutes, and evaluates nursing interventions and documentation.
  • Demonstrates competence in performing critical skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
  • Works collaboratively with other disciplines to ensure patient care is timely, efficient, and effective.
  • Facilitates professional development of staff with accountability for staff retention.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS-

Registered Nurse Manager - Critical Care Unit

RN MGR - CCU

Full-Time

Registered Nurse Manager candidates for the Critical Care Unit must meet the following minimum job qualifications :

  • Current RN license in the State of Alaska
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or enrolled in a program within 12 months
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
  • A minimum of one year of CSIC, three years of direct nursing experience in ICU to include at least two years of open-heart recovery experience
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
  • Strong clinical skills in the performance of ICU level nursing care
  • Strong leadership skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to work creatively within a team environment
  • Initiative and creativity in proposing and implementing projects and initiatives
  • Ability to integrate duties with other department programs to maximize impact and create efficiencies.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identifying trends relationships and proposing solutions.

Salary Estimate : $87,339 - $130,998

Incentive Bonus of Up To 15%

Sign-On Bonus : $10K

Relocation : $10K
