This position reports to

Product Engineering & Quality Manager

Your role and responsibilities

As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed.

You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education / employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is onsite in New Berlin, Wisconsin Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position.

Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.

You will be mainly accountable for :

  • Update 3D models and drawings in CREO.
  • Maintain CAD files in the PLM tool.
  • Support ECO process to implement engineering changes.
  • Participate in testing and validation of prototypes and products
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering data and project progress
  • Participate in root cause analysis and propose solutions to technical challenges Ideally, the candidate would be available to work part-time from January to April while attending school, with the opportunity to transition to full-time from May to August.

Qualifications for the role

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or mechatronics engineering, in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress
  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and practices
  • Participate in testing and validation of prototypes and products
  • Assist in preparing technical documentation, reports, and presentations
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering data and project progress
