We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Records Clerk in the Healthcare / NHS industry located in San Francisco, California.
The Medical Records Clerk will be tasked with managing patient records in compliance with legal and healthcare facility policies.
The role will involve detail-oriented tasks such as data entry and records analysis, and will be crucial in maintaining the organization and confidentiality of patient information.
Responsibilities :
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records and update them as necessary with new information, test results, diagnoses, and treatments.
- Handle requests for medical records from authorized personnel, responding in a timely manner.
- Adhere to healthcare regulations, particularly HIPAA, and facility protocols regarding the handling of medical records.
- Perform data entry tasks using various tools and systems such as EHR SYSTEM and Microsoft Excel.
- Conduct medical records analysis and review patient medical records as part of clinical trial operations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant standards and protocols while maintaining the confidentiality of patient information.
- Collect and compile patient information from various sources including physicians, nurses, and labs.
- Organize medical records in a systematic manner, ensuring proper labeling and indexing.
- Respond to inquiries from healthcare providers, patients, and third parties regarding medical records.
- Manage inventory and order supplies for the medical records department as needed.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry.
- Proficient in the use of EHR SYSTEM and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to create and interpret charts and graphs.
- Experience in Clinical Trial Operations is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to compliance requirements in the healthcare industry.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of medical records.
- Skilled in data entry with high accuracy.
- Experience with EMR - Electronic Medical Records is essential.
- Knowledge of Medical Records Analysis.
- Experience working in a Medical Records Department.
- Familiarity with the process of medical records review.
- Ability to manage and organize patient medical records efficiently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive and able to identify issues and solve problems.
