Job Requirements

Education Required :

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Education Preferred :

Bachelor's degree (BSN)

Certifications Required :

  • Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse licensure
  • Current driver's license.
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers

Experience Preferred :

6 months of clinical RN experience in an outpatient or behavioral health setting

Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job :

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend medical information and terminology.
  • Ability to effectively present information, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the RN scope of practice.
  • Good interpersonal skills.

Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job :

  • Daily operations of outpatient medical office.
  • OSHA regulations and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of current nursing practices with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health services and diagnoses.
  • Good computer and mathematical computational skills.

Equipment Used :

  • Office equipment such as computers, copiers, telephone, fax machines, etc.
  • Medical equipment includes emergency equipment, defibrillator (AED), nebulizer, etc.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements :

  • Frequent prolonged standing / walking.
  • Occasionally lifts, positions, pushes, and / or transfers patients.
  • Occasionally lifts supplies and equipment. Handles emergencies or crisis.
  • Occasionally subject to multiple calls and inquiries.
  • Exposed to unpleasant elements (Accidents, injuries, and illness).
  • May work variable hours to include, weeknights and weekends.
