About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our backend engineering teams, which are responsible for enabling third-party payments and experiences such as search, discovery, and personalized recommendations. You will build and lead a global engineering team that develops the anime fan experiences for a broad set of device and payment partners. You will partner with the product, design, and other teams, such as video engineering, data analytics, platform engineering, and service monetization, to create scalable, flexible solutions. As Senior Engineering Manager, you will report to the Senior Director of Engineering in the Fan Experiences Engineering group. This is a hybrid position based in our San Francisco office.

About You

• You have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• You have 12+ years of engineering in building cloud-native applications, with a strong focus on backend development and microservices architecture
• You have 5+ years of experience in managing and leading engineering teams
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Typescript, Go, Java, Python, and experience with modern frameworks and technologies
• You have experience launching large-scale consumer-facing applications in at least one of the following areas :
• Search, Recommendations, or Data-driven personalization
• Payments or billing systems
