Plans Examiner

Overview

This position is subject to a Hiring Incentive up to $2,000.

Under the supervision of the Building Official, is responsible for plan review and permitting; monitoring the plan review process; ensuring compliance with applicable codes, related ordinances and national standards; Town of Little Elm Municipal Code, which include zoning violations, substandard structures, construction code requirements, mobile homes, mobile home and travel trailer parks; and enforcing other development regulations.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE

Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience with high public contact, including experience in the enforcement of construction codes. Must obtain the ICC Residential Plans Examiner and Commercial Building Plans Examiner certifications within one year of employment. Valid Texas Driver's License required.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES

• Must be bondable.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• International Code Council Residential Energy Inspector / Plans Examiner within 1 year of hire.
• International Code Council Commercial Building Plans Examiner within 1 year of hire.
