We are hiring Part-Time Math Tutors for in-person tutoring at both our Lake Zurich / Barrington, IL and Schaumburg, IL locations.

- TestPrep (ACT / SAT) Tutor

Tutor Requirements :
- For Math Teachers : Education / Teaching or Math Degree preferred. College students or professionals with strong Math abilities are also welcome.
- For TestPrep (ACT / SAT) Tutor : strong ACT / SAT score required (30 ACT / 1400 SAT). No teaching degree required.
- Excellent Part-Time job for students at local Community Colleges.
- 1 years teaching or tutoring experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Ability to make connections with students.
- Working out of one of our locations in Schaumburg or Lake Zurich / Barrington.
Tutor Skills and Qualifications :
- Teach using Sylvan based programs
- Direct and motivate students during instruction
- Reward students for successful work
- Evaluate and document student progress
- Communicate student needs to our Educational Team
- Develop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environment
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
About Sylvan Learning Centers :
- We are the industry leaders in providing supplemental education to children in pre-K through 12th grade.
- We provide individualized instruction in Comprehension, Reading, English, Writing, Math and Study Skills.
- We also offer ACT / SAT Test Prep and STEM.
- Given the pandemic, we are seeing growing needs for tutoring.
- We teach 7 days per week and require our teachers to work at least one of Saturday / Sunday, and at least one day during the week.
We have extended teaching opportunities in the summer.
