Responsibilities Work in a short-term acute care hospital on a Med / Surg Telemetry (MS / Tele) unit Day shift position with 4x12 hour shifts from 7 : 00 to 19 : 00 Patient ratio of 1 : 5-6 on the unit Position is located in a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital Must float within scope or between similar units as needed Every other weekend is required Unit uses Epic for charting and Epic experience is required Royal blue and white scrubs are required On-call is not required Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the main campus Role involves monitoring patients on telemetry and managing a diverse Med / Surg caseload Modules must be completed pre-start and are unpaid, typically 4-10 hours First-time travelers are welcome to apply Return staff must be gone for 1 year to return as travelers Candidates may only extend once per contract; a 6-month gap is required after two contracts before returning Holiday time off is restricted to approval of only one holiday and up to 4 total days off, as per manager's discretion Requirements Active NC or compact RN license required at the time of submission Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Telemetry experience required Current BLS certification required Must pass an EKG exam with no exceptions Epic charting experience required Travelers who have previously been staff at the facility must have been gone for at least 1 year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622994.
