Robert Half if seeking a Staff Accountant with knowledge of grant accounting for a position located in the East Brunswick, NJ area.
As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining the financial health of our organization, primarily focusing on grant accounting.
Responsibilities
- Handle the processing and management of grant accounting activities
- Comply with GAAP accounting principles in all accounting tasks
- Ensure accurate processing of customer credit applications
- Maintain precise credit records for all customers
- Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as needed
- Resolve customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Ensure all financial operations align with the current financial legislation
- Perform grant compliance tasks as required
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports
- Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial processes and procedures.
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency in Grant Accounting
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience in the education industry is a plus
- Must possess a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
