Job Summary
The AFCAP V Middle East BOS Multi-Purpose Vehicle Mechanic / Alternate Site Manager performs maintenance requirements including maintenance management / leadership tasks, technical inspections (TI), fault diagnosis, scheduled and unscheduled repairs, authorized modifications, and ensure collection of data is stored for equipment and assigned vehicles.
Also serves as the Alternate Site Manager in an extended absence of the Site Manager to fulfill his duties including but not limited to full authority to act for the Contractor relating to daily contract operation in the absence of the SM.
Is responsible for meeting Contractor’s work requirements, including scheduling of personnel, work supervision, and quality control.
Roles and Responsibilities
The MVMS shall manage and perform associated maintenance requirements such as inspection, diagnostics, repair, modification, and data collection for the vehicle and equipment and shall ensure adequate personnel, tools;
equipment, spare parts, and workspace are available.
- The MVMS shall oversee and perform maintenance activities responsible for vehicle repair, analysis, training, and parts procurement to ensure effective use of maintenance resources.
- The MVMS may be required to analyze maintenance reports, past and current performance, and inspection reports to ensure cost effective operations, timely preventive maintenance, repairs of vehicular equipment.
- This position shall function as an integral team member, cooperating with and supporting U.S. deployed forces in Israel and shall share information with other integral team members as required.
- Ensure compliance with authoritative Vehicle Maintenance and other authoritative references.
- Responsible for proper utilization, accounting, and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.
g., to include government facilities, equipment tools, information and Data).
- Ensure required contractual submittals, deliverables, and products are provided to the government.
- Use technical publications in maintaining vehicles to prescribed manufacturers maintenance schedules. Ensures the full range of maintenance on vehicles is performed correctly to include corrosion control, winterization, storage, and shipment.
- Properly annotate all maintenance performed on prescribed forms and in maintenance management systems for data collection.
- Perform maintenance on vehicle AC system to include refrigerant recovery in accordance with environmental standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED :
May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE);
may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment.
Use of Land Mobile Radios, cell phones, laptops, and other devices to maintain contact and accountability of work activities.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT :
- Work will be indoors and outdoors.
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals may occur.
- Overtime and shift work may be required depending on contractual needs as well as occasional to frequent travel.
- Employees must comply with all Federal, State and Local regulations and published Company work rules as well as written instructions.
- Task specific work environment training may be provided.
- Must be prepared to function in a wartime or contingency environment to support U.S. interests.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES :
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.
- Work may require using and wearing personal protective equipment such as hearing and eye protection, hard hat and steel-toed boots as well as Individual Protective Equipment (IPE).
- Day-to-day physical requirements may involve standard office activities including sitting / standing for extended periods of time, attending meetings, use of keyboard and mouse repetitively, lifting and carrying less than 20 lbs. frequently, etc.
- Work requires moderate physical exertion including walking to operating areas and walking upstairs.

Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- MVMS personnel shall have a minimum of Ten (10) years of experience in vehicle fleet, maintenance and / or vehicle management.
- 3-5 years of leadership and / or supervisory experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current U. S. Driver's License.
- Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 13 months of remaining validity AND 6 blank visa / stamp pages remaining
- Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET Security Clearance
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
Skills :
- Great communication, analytical, pro-active, well organized, results-oriented, and a team player.
- Use computers and related software such as Microsoft Office and other common products used in office environments as well as USAF Vehicle operations, maintenance and Supply Management systems.
- Able and willing to work periods of long hours to meet mission requirements.
- Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.
- Experience in contingency environments as well as knowledge & experience working with government contracts.
