Position Summary
The Staff Contracts Attorney, under direction of the Chief Legal & Governance Officer, manages and advises on all legal aspects of organizational contracts.
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates various agreements, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and mitigating legal risks associated with contracts.
- Provides legal counsel to internal stakeholders, manages contract-related disputes, and stays updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Provides legal counsel on a broad range of legal matters including rendering verbal and written advice on legal subjects.
- Interprets and implements constitutional, statutory, regulatory and administrative rule requirements.
- Provides training and assistance in the development of policies, procedures, and programs, as well as laws and regulations which may affect or impact East Alabama Health.
- Conducts healthcare related legal research and policy development on general healthcare matters, compliance and regulatory matters.
- Assists with other legal and health care issues as directed by the Chief Legal & Governance Officer.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law schoolRequired Registration / License / Certification
Member / licensed by the Alabama State Bar within 90 days of hire.Preferred Experience
Preferred minimum 5 years active law practice; healthcare law experience preferred.Other Requirements
