Program Finance Manager I

The BAE Systems Finance organization is a trusted business partner delivering information and innovative solutions for decision-making in order to deliver quality products and capabilities to our customers. Project Finance plans, tracks and monitors various projects for our organization, as well as reporting program performance relating to cost and schedule. The Tactical Systems Team, within the C4ISR Business Area, is seeking a highly motivated Program Finance Manager I to join the Project Finance team. The Tactical Systems portfolio consists of >

200 active contracts of multiple program types. Annual revenue is excess of $350M. Contracts supported range in size from (less than $2M to $100M) and have varying levels of complexity. The portfolio contains both production and development contracts. This is a hybrid position located in Greenlawn, NY.

Responsibilities include :

  • Provide direct supervision activities, including completion of performance goals and reviews, assigning work scope to employees and ensuring employees operate according to company policies and procedures
  • Promote the professional development of Financial Analysts and foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Financial oversight of the forecasting, Estimate at Complete preparation, External financial reporting and Earned Value Management compliance
  • Directly support the program area director for 1 of 3 Program Areas within Tactical Systems
  • Perform program analyst duties for several programs within supported Program Area
  • Ensuring on time and accurate financial reporting for responsible programs
  • Providing financial guidance to the Program Management Teams
  • Collaborate with Accounting, Pricing, Government Compliance, and Financial Planning
  • Financial Planning, in Hyperion for Quarterly and Integrated Business Plan (IBP) updates
  • Providing analytical data and recommendations for required improvement
  • Providing and interpreting data as required for contract accounting activities
  • Performing resource management planning, ensuring maximum utilization of personnel and equipment
  • Assisting with special projects and internal and external audits

Required Education, Experience, & Skills :

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline plus 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Recent experience in the Defense Industry
  • Prior Program Controls experience working with various contract types
  • Cobra or comparable Earned Value Management System
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management principles
  • Capable of efficient and relevant decision-making
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong Mentoring Skills
  • Effective communications skills
  • Ability to communicate and present financial data to various functions and at all levels of management
  • Able to develop presentation material
  • Experience with Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Oracle ERP
  • Hyperion
  • General Ledger Accounting Experience
  • Proposal / Pricing experience
  • Skilled in implementing effective processes and controls
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
  • Pay Information :

    Full-Time Salary Range : $127002 - $215904 Please note : This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to : business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
