Clinical Psychologist – Veterans and Active-Duty Service Members
Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Clinical Psychologist.
The ideal candidate for this position will have clinical experience with trauma, and the evidence-based treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), particularly Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
Overview :
- Most of the psychologists clinical time will consist of delivering short-term, evidence-based interventions virtually using the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT).
- Psychologists will engage in individual, couples, and group psychotherapy, as well as some diagnostic assessment.
- Psychologists may be expected to supervise trainees, teach medical students and residents, and engage in research and program development.
- Psychologists will receive an academic appointment through Rush Medical College, so psychologists will be expected to approach their work through a scientist-practitioner perspective.
- The ideal candidate for this position will have clinical experience with trauma, and the evidence-based treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), particularly Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT).
- Candidates that have previous clinical experience with active-duty service members or veterans may be particularly well-suited.
- Qualified candidates must have a doctoral degree (PhD / PsyD) in clinical or counseling psychology with an APA-approved internship as well as a one-year psychology post-doctoral fellowship.
- Qualified candidates must be either licensed or license-eligible in the state of Illinois. Qualified candidates must be PSYPACT credentialed or PSYPACT-eligible.
