3K Lead Teacher Good Shepherd School - Immediate Opening Manhattan, NY 10034
Good Shepherd School, located in the Inwood section of Manhattan, is hiring a lead early childhood teacher for the coming school year.
As part of the greater school community as well as of the PreK for All / 3K for All program, the candidate will be expected to take on a range of responsibilities, including :
- Provide students with an age-appropriate nurturing, safe, and healthy environment.
- Provide classroom instruction using NYC Creative Curriculum with a commitment to designing and implementing high-quality lessons.
- Implement well-developed intentional lesson plans in a center-based environment.
- Use authentic assessment methodology and maintain updated student profiles.
- Participate in all PreK for All / 3K for All professional development sessions.
- Seek and implement feedback to elevate professional performance.
- Implement positive behavior guidance and support for all children in collaboration with school, regional, and other support staff.
- Provide services to all children and families with respect, confidentiality, and dignity.
- Promote and provide frequent opportunities for family engagement in the education of the children.
- Assist and collaborate with the Teacher Assistant / Aide regarding program development, planning, implementation, etc.
and delegate their responsibilities professionally and accordingly.
- Maintain an open, frequent dialogue with the school principal / director and staff regarding all things pertaining to the Early Childhood classroom, students, parents, etc.
- Support and maintain positive partnerships within the school building.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum BA in Early Childhood or Childhood Education or related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
One of the following
New York State teaching certification (preferred)
- Early Childhood (Birth - Grade 2);
- Nursery, Kindergarten and Grades 1-6 (N-6);
- Prekindergarten - Grade 6 (P-6); or Childhood - Grades 1-6 (3K only)
- Students with Disabilities (Birth - Grade 2)
