We are seeking an energetic, patient-centered Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor for our Women’s Medicine Unit at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus! Our brand new, 30-bed unit is located in the Inova Women’s Hospital, the only dedicated women’s hospital in Northern Virginia.

On this unit, you will see a variety of women’s general medicine patients. The Women’s Medicine Unit is a sister unit to our nationally recognized Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit.

Our usual nurse to patient ratio is four or five patients to one RN.

Sign-On / Relocation Bonus Information : This position is eligible for a competitive Sign-On Bonus. Candidates who are relocating 50 miles or further are also eligible for relocation assistance.

Schedule : Full time Days : 7am-7pam (3x12 hour shifts per week)

• General medicine
• Sickle Cell patients
• End of life
• Telemetry and continuous Pulse Oximetry monitoring
• Laparoscopic surgery
• Surgical overflow from the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit

Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unit;

Required Experience : At least one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.

General Requirements :

o Proficient in English, strong verbal, and written communication skills

o Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor towards others

o Values team collaboration

o Proficient computer skills required

Minimum Education Requirement :

Education : BSN from an accredited school of nursing.

BSN from an accredited school of nursing OR Associate Degree RNs that are within one year of completing their BSN

Minimum Licensure / Certification Requirement :

o Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in the State of Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).

o Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start

o Specialty certification (as required by the unit) within one year of hire.

o Completion of a revised Charge Nurse workshop within the first 90 days of employment
