Industrial Field Service Technician (Electric Motors)

The Field Services Lead completes tasks and assignments as assigned by the Field Service Manager.

Responsible for tasks and assignments as assigned by the Field Service Manager. Accountable to the Field Service Manager for completion of delegated activities, proper documentation, and processes as assigned.

Responsible to the Field Service Manager. Accountable for all assignments delegated by the Field Service Mgr.

FIELD TASKS :

• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools;
• test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices to ensure compatibility and safety of system;
• diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem ;
• connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components; inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes ;

advise management on all hazardous, non-safe, or poor quality standards or situations resulting in poor quality, poor customer service, or unsafe environment.

As Lead, you will have additional responsibilities such as but not limited to : organize jobs at job sights, customer relations, following the scope of work, keeping truck and trailers stock with supplies needed to complete jobs, maintain reports and supplies used to bill jobs, timekeeping for field service team members, making sure job site signs off on time for job performed before leaving the job sight.

LEAD MANAGE AND HOLD ACCOUNTABLE :

• Lead Field Service employees as directed by FS Foreman.
• Responsible for morale, safety, and execution.
• Manages workload and tasks of cross functional team on FS Jobs to meet customer needs.
• Conducts Daily Toolbox Huddles to set expectations for safety, quality, and job execution.
• Completes daily timesheets and safety documentation for all employees assigned to project / job.
• In absence of Foreman serves as primary point of contact for customer engagement while on-site.
• Makes recommendations to FS Foreman regarding incentives and corrective actions.
• Provides daily feedback to subordinates regarding job performance.
• PLAN, ORGANIZE, DELIVER ONTIME :
• Work with FS Foreman to develop staffing plan.
• Provides Labor hours and material needs to FS Foreman / Manager to assist with accurate quote development.
• Coordinates transportation, report times, and locations to assigned technicians.
• Ensures that FS Truck(s) are properly tooled and supplied to complete the assigned project or job.
• Conducts daily pre-work and post-work huddles.
• Communicates material and labor needs to FS Foreman.
• Assigns jobs / project tasks to specific field employees.
• Ensures tasks are completed safely, of the highest quality, and on-time.
• Provides daily updates to customers and FS Foreman regarding job status.

PROBLEM SOLVING :

• Assists Technicians with resolution of moderate and complex problems.
• Elevates complex technical problems / issues to Foreman for assistance.
• Serves as a technical resource for areas including, but not limited to
• Mechanical Inspection
• Electrical Inspection
• Motor Testing
• Laser Alignment
• Vibration Analysis
