School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location : California
Duration : Full Academic Year (August 10, 2024 - May 30, 2025)
Hours : Elementary 8 : 00 AM - 3 : 30 PM (7 billable hours per day, plus 30-minute unpaid lunch)
Job Description :
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the upcoming school year. The position is based at a single elementary site, serving a small caseload of students from Preschool through 5th grade.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide therapy in accordance with Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals.
- Manage caseload for assigned students, ensuring timely and effective service delivery.
- Set up, facilitate, and write legally compliant and defensible IEPs.
- Conduct formal assessments to determine students' needs and progress.
- Attend Special Education (SPED) trainings as required.
- Collaborate with other specialists and General Education (GE) staff to provide Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
- Run MTSS groups for students to support their academic and social development.
- Create and facilitate weekly Social and Lunch Bunch groups.
- Oversee the needs for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT), including training and supporting staff in the use of AAC tools.
Required Qualifications :
- Current California Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Minimum of 2 years of current school-based experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
- Experience in running Social and Lunch Bunch Groups.
