Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) relies on a wide range of technologies to perform its vital role. We now need a Senior Development Operations Engineer to join a newly created team and support the development pipeline.

It's an exciting and innovative opportunity to be involved in a transformational team that will be changing the way we deliver technical solutions to operational policing. Interested? Join us.

As a Senior Development Operations Engineer, you'll play a leading role in the development and operations of the DevOps pipeline.

At this level, we'll expect you to test and deploy product updates, implement integrations, improve automation and monitoring, and be the technical product owner for some parts of the pipeline.

To make sure software development follows the intended processes, you'll also spend time working with developers and engineers.

What's really exciting is that your work will contribute to a fundamental change in the way we develop and deliver technical solutions to the operational community.

You'll play an important part in shaping this new team and implementing some of the exciting new technology and processes within the organisation.

Working flexibly from home or from one of our easily accessible offices in Birmingham or London, you'll work to create a world-class development function.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll deliver and integrate software to form a complete DevOps toolchain. You'll be responsible for planning and designing large groups of stories.

Meanwhile, the wider DevOps team will support the development and operation of software, underpinning good development processes including managing tools and testing environments, maintaining central code control, upholding development standards and writing software that automates systems.

This is a role for an experienced professional with a solid background in software engineering or platform infrastructure support.

We're also looking for a proven track record in creating and maintaining DevOps or similar pipelines. And finally, you'll need a sound grasp of how testing works within a CI / CD pipeline, including automated testing.

With these credentials plus your strong communication skills, you'll collaborate easily and be a great mentor for junior staff members.

If that sounds like you, you can expect a competitive salary, a Civil Service pension, excellent career development, plus a role that's like no other.
