Operations Manager needed in Houston for 3PL

LOCATION : Houston, TX

SUMMARY

The Manager of 3PL Operations will be responsible for leading 200,000 square foot facility in all aspects of the daily operations.

The 3PL operations are part of a 310,792 square foot facility. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing a staff of 50+ employees on both the inbound and outbound side of the operation.

The facility is operational 24 hours per day 7 days per week. The ideal candidate will be able to implement KPI’s and continuous improvement methods to run the operation at maximum efficacy.

Role you will play :

• Develops and maintains operations, productivity, and standards to include all customer / company requirements, labor hours, equipment, and facility costs to enable the organization to reach goals and focus on continuous improvement
• Leverages continuous improvement methods to enhance labor productivity and process accuracy while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Reviews operating reports, identifies and directs the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays
• Ensures operational procedures are followed for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
• Ultimately accountable for outcome of key performance indicators (KPIs)
• Distribution focus : oversight of shipping / receiving, picking / packing, inventory, and VAS activities.

Background Profile :

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 10+ years of progressive experience in a 3PL or big box retailer’s distribution center.
• Experience in the furniture industry and white glove delivery is a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in a 3PL environment managing multi-client warehousing and distribution facilities.
• Experience implementing and managing key performance indicators throughout operations and holding management and employees accountable for performance metrics.
• Solid financial, analytical, and P&L experience.
• Familiarity with Lean techniques and continuous improvement models.
• Experience with warehouse management and transportation management systems (WMS / TMS / YMS).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is not required but is preferred.
