Director of Business Services

The individual serves the Athletic Department as the Director of Business Services and will be responsible for satisfying the financial reporting and analytical requirements of the Athletic Department and assisting with budgetary functions.

In this role, the employee will be required to complete mandated and ad hoc financial reports, including, but not limited to, the Federal EADA Report, NCAA / AUP Report, Private Business Use Questionnaire, Economic Impact Report, and ACC Financial Survey.

Additionally, the Director of Business Services will be required to analyze, review, reconcile, and track all ticketing and outside event revenues.

They will work to analyze revenue trends and data, reconcile transactions to the general ledger and other shadow systems, and identify opportunities to streamline business processes throughout the Athletic Department.

In addition, the Director of Business Services will assist with budget development and management of annual operating budgets.

This will require that they maintain supervisory responsibility over the Assistant Director of Business Operations that manages team travel and work closely with those Athletic Department employees that process expense reports and vendor payments (currently the Coordinators of Business Operations and Assistant Directors of Business Operations).

They will work with these individuals to ensure that all payables are processed in a timely manner and that employee expenses are reconciled within desired timeframes.

The individual will report directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Business and Finance and receive other tasks and direction from the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Chief Financial Officer.

A Bachelor's degree is required, with a focus on accounting, business, and / or finance strongly preferred. The employee shall also possess at least three years of related experience in business and / or intercollegiate athletics as well as proficiency in both Microsoft Excel and Tableau.

Job Summary

Manages general accounting functions and daily operations to ensure compliance with fiscal policies, procedures, and regulations.

Oversees reports and analyses and assists in budgetary functions. Resolves complex accounting inquiries and issues. Coordinates audits and account and database maintenance and establishes internal controls, remediate actions, and operational goals.

Essential Functions

Completion of Athletic Department Financial Reporting Requirements. Analysis and Reconciliation of External Revenues. Oversight of Annual Operating Budget.

Special Projects and Other Duties as Assigned.

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
