The Opportunity :
Four Seasons Hotel Silicon Valley is currently looking for a Group Sales Manager.
The Role of Group Sales Manager :
Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Group Sales Manager promotes and sells to group markets in defined geographic regions.
This role generates hotel awareness through direct phone sales, direct sales calls, tradeshows, and networking groups while working closely with the Sales and Marketing team to solicit, sell and confirm the group business required to meet budgeted sales goals.
The ideal candidate should possess the ability to solicit group travel. This position requires a high degree of independent judgement and discretion in decision making.
An ideal candidate should embody a high commitment to service, be a strong team player, impeccable verbal and organizational skills, outstanding attention to detail, the ability to multitask and the willingness to work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
Applicants will be a willing team player, comfortable with technology and willing to accept assignments on a as need basis, in order to promote teamwork.
Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as necessary.
Essential function of the job :
Responsible for all groups of 10 rooms or more per night
Promote and sell to group market in defined geographic region (Northeast, Southeast and Texas) and Key Industry (Finance and Legal)
Taking a proactive approach to find new group accounts.
Responsible for nurturing existing accounts and relationships to maximize revenue while also
Field inquiries, send proposals and contracts, facilitate billing, food, and beverage arrangements, and effectively communicate needs with all departments of the hotel.
Negotiate pricing within booking guidelines and standard hotel procedures.
Team player with a guest centric attitude to do the right thing, think creatively be an active listener with excellent presentation skills.
Communicates regularly with various departments involved in servicing accounts.
Conducts pre & post-convention meetings as needed.
Travels as needed to solicit business from potential clients.
Conducts on-site inspections, meets with, and entertains clients as needed.
Qualifications and Skills :
Knowledge of the Menlo Park / Palo Alto / Silicon Valley market and competitive set preferred
Represent the Hotel at industry events and tradeshows as needed.
Luxury Hotel Group Sales preferred (minimum of 2 to 3 years).
Proven sales track record a plus.
Candidate to be located locally or we will also consider remote position in Northeast, Southeast and Texas with proven track record of success and experiences.
Must provide work authorization documents - eligibility to work in the United States of America
