Compensation : $30.45 / hr

Shift : 1st shift available

As an Inpatient Coder II, you will be tasked with reviewing patient charts, identifying procedures, and accurately abstracting and coding using ICD-10 and CPT classifications.

This role is crucial for ensuring that charts meet current standards and regulations, and it requires close collaboration with hospital staff to clarify information for coding.

Responsibilities :

  • Review inpatient charts to identify procedures for accurate coding.
  • Abstract and code patient records using ICD-10 and CPT classifications.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of charts to comply with regulations.
  • Communicate with hospital personnel to finalize charts or clarify coding-related information.

Qualifications :

  • Credentials : RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), or CPC (Certified Professional Coder).
  • 2-3 years of coding experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center within the last five years, using ICD-10 and CPT classifications.
  • Medical billing experience is not applicable.
  • Please detail all relevant experience and credentials in your application.
  • Experience with automated encoder or abstracting systems is highly preferred.

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position.
