Job Title : Sample Prep Technician

Job Description

As a Sample Prep Technician, you will initiate, execute, and complete media preparation. You will play a critical role in maintaining laboratory efficiency by managing inventories and ensuring a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete media preparation processes.
  • Communicate with the team regarding deadlines, scheduling issues, and updates on the work environment.
  • Document processes following Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
  • Maintain inventories of reagents and ensure a clean laboratory workspace.
  • Record and calculate results during media preparation.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.
  • Apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Essential Skills

  • Knowledge of media preparation and data entry.
  • Experience in laboratory settings, including accessioning and sample receiving.
  • Understanding of chemistry and biology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of a high school diploma.
  • If no degree, at least 1+ years of laboratory work experience.
  • Work Environment

    This role operates within a laboratory environment, where you will be working Monday to Friday, either from 7 : 00 AM to 3 : 30 PM or 8 : 00 AM to 4 : 30 PM. The work involves contributing to a company dedicated to making significant impacts in the animal world.

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract position based out of Fort Dodge, Iowa.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00 / hr.
