JOBSUMMARY

This is an Operationsposition responsible for managing the activities associated withinbound and outbound warehouse operations.

Responsibilities includebut are not limited to, managing activities related to productreceiving, product replenishment, order selection, order loading,expense and revenue management, ensuring abidance of governmentregulations, providing management and direction to warehouse staffand ensuring safety and security of the inbound and outboundwarehousedepartments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managesthe daily work and safety of Inbound and Outbound Warehousemanagers, supervisors and otherassociates.
  • Ensures the efficient management oflabor hours and consumable supplies within budget and workschedules including extra work days and shifts asneeded.
  • Supervises the proper selection,purchase, and utilization of Company assets in support of warehouseoperations.
  • Coordinates with other departmentsas necessary to ensure upgrades and repairs are completedefficiently and effectively.
  • Develops businessrelationships to ensure communication and efficient operations withthird-party vendors, including but not limited to lumping services.

Maintains current certificate of insurance and hold harmlessagreements for all contracted vendors.

  • Reviewsthe management of shipping and loading audits daily ensuring allrequired documentation is accurately completed (including HAACP,food safety, and catch-weight documentation) and that material ishandled and stored correctly with a minimum potential forloss.
  • Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reductionmeasures and assists with the implementation of changes withininbound and outbound warehouseoperations.
  • Identifies problems and proposessolutions to other members of management and promotes cooperationwith other departments.
  • Assures the use andupdating of receiving, selection and loading softwaresystems.
  • Preserves associate relations throughregular department or pre-shiftmeetings.
  • Maintains on-goinginteraction.
  • Keeps open communication channelswith associates by answering questions and explaining policies andprocedures.
  • Monitors associatemorale.
  • Submits and responds to ideas toimprove associate engagement andenablement.
  • Interprets trains and consistentlyenforces Company policies andprocedures.
  • Organizes efforts with the Safetydepartment to aid in training, conducting associate observations,up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accidentinvestigations to determine root causes and routine safetyinspections.
  • Makes recommendations fordisciplinary action and / or behavior modification whererequired.
  • Executes management functions ofstaff selection, development, discipline, performance reviewsand / or terminations.
  • Performs the duties ofassociates supervised and other related duties asneeded.
  • Complies with local, state and federalregulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, AIB, FDA, USDA,etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • High school diploma orgeneral education degree (GED); or equivalent combination ofeducation and related experience.
  • 2 or 4-yearcollege degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management orsimilar majorpreferred.

Experience

1-3years related experience and / ortraining.

Certificates,Licenses, andRegistrations

Obtain aPowered Industrial Equipment Certification from Sysco within 3months.

  • Manage the pressures and stressassociated with a deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer serviceissues.
