OverviewGovCIO is currently hiring for a Java Engineer to work remote.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and deploy working code and configurations for features and functionality as described in applicable documentation or as required by the ProgramRefactor components to ensure maintainability and performanceCheck-in code and configuration updates using the Program's designated Version Control System and processes (e.

g., GitLab, Azure DevOps)Integrate individual existing and new components with other Public Access Subsystem and / or Content Management and Preservation Subsystem components, as needed to support Program needsCreate and update issues within source code management tools (e.

g., GitLab, Azure DevOps) and update GPO’s enterprise issue trackers (e.g., Trello, GitLab, Azure DevOps)Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and test steps.

Update release and backlog issues within the GovInfo Program’s release and backlog management tools. (e.g., Trello, GitLab, Azure DevOps)Employ agile practices and frameworks (e.

g., Scrum, Kanban) based on the scope of work to be performed and as directed by GPO. The role of Product Owner is performed by GPO personnel and the rest of the team is comprised of contracted development and support team membersAdvise on agile processes and perform duties and associated responsibilities to support development and support effortsChampion agile software development practices on component and cross-functional teams, including day to day communications and activitiesQualificationsBachelors Degree with 5-8 years of Java engineering experience (or commensurate experience)Experience building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and enhancing JavaEE custom applications and web servicesExperience in developing applications on the Documentum, Oracle, MySQL platform, with open source content management systems such as DrupalExperience troubleshooting operational support issues in a fast-paced ProductionenvironmentExperience with traditional waterfall and agile software development lifecyclemethodologies including Scrum and KanbanExperience authoring, editing, and maintaining design documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration documentationDemonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills including conveyingtechnical concepts to non-technical audiencesExperience with DevOps, test driven development, and test automation for all levels of the test pyramidClearance Required : Ability to maintain a public trust clearanceCompany OverviewGovCIO is a team of transformers people who are passionate about transforming government IT.
