Our Opportunity :

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer or Physicist with a background in energy systems for our Electrical Engineering & Computer Science Practice in Oakland, CA .

In this role, you will work as part of a team to combine electrical engineering principles and a range of investigative analysis techniques with robust subject-specific scientific expertise, to implement high-value solutions to complex technical problems.

You will have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across a wide cross-section of industry and will interact with a variety of client contacts ranging from managers, engineers, legal staff, and business leaders.

You will be expected to demonstrate continued professional growth, both in technical areas relevant to your expertise, and in business skills essential to providing effective consulting services.

You will be responsible for :

• Performing electrical engineering analyses consulting related to ongoing Exponent work
• Preparing technical proposals, pursuing business development opportunities, and performing technical analysis related to medium and high voltage energy systems, as well as interacting with managers, engineers, and non-technical staff
• Risk analysis, design analysis, experimental testing for performance, reliability, and risk prediction
• Failure analysis of electrical equipment and products
• Critically assessing test results, methods of analysis and testing protocols, generating new testing protocols based on new product designs, maintaining a systematic approach to data collection and storage, and report writing

You will have the following skills and qualifications :

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to work independently or in multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to gather information and convey technical conclusions to individuals in engineering, business, and related industries
• Ability to support multiple group projects and market the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Practice and its consulting services
• Technical background in circuits, electronics or control systems
• Hands-on experience or a technical background in energy and power systems is a plus

Compensation :

Our consultants are rewarded for their technical and business contributions and have an opportunity to plan for future success and career growth.

Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.

At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.

Salary Range :

USD $135,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 / Yr.
