Vet Assistant

VCA Veterinary Specialists of the Valley is seeking an experienced Vet Assistant to complement our talented team in Woodland Hills, California.

The position is in our Emergency Department , full-time, 10hr shifts 4 days / week, swing and / or overnight with the flexibility to work at least one weekend shift.

We are looking for individuals with experience who enjoy supporting advanced medicine with a unified, supportive like-minded team and dedicated hospital leadership.

The hourly range for this position is $22-$25, with a shift differential of $2 / hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years experience in an emergency or urgent care setting
• Ability to navigate high paced workflow with a sense of urgency
• Exceptional interpersonal skills
• Able to be part of a collaborative team-oriented environment
• Comfortable to ask for help & clarification when needed
• Posses a high attention to detail
• Able to perform skills including : VenipunctureCatheter placementBandage / splint positioningWound careRadiologyAnesthesia set up Patient Assessment / TriageLaboratory processingPharmacyPatient recoveryCare for hospitalized patients / follow treatments plansCalculate and administer medications, including fluid bolus & CRI
