Class Description

The purpose of this position is to provide on-going support for existing systems and to analyze, make recommendations and implement technology-based solutions.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Finance or related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Five (5) years of experience supporting finance modules in an EPR system, preferably in a higher education environment.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  • Coordinate modifications, testing, implementation and maintenance of the automated financial management systems
  • Analyze, troubleshoot and provide recommendations to software system and business process related issues.
  • Train finance staff in proper utilization of the automated financial management system, including finance, payroll, position control, accounts receivable, and self-service modules.
  • Produce and maintain user documentation.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting out of financial management system.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  • Act as liaison between finance department, ITS, software vendors and Ellucian consultants to support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the College’s financial management system.
  • Communicate and collaborate with end users to analyze and gather functional requirements for modifications / enhancements to existing financial systems and translate business requirements into system requirements.
  • Coordinate the development of integrated financial systems and required management reporting between finance and ITS staff.
  • Review and ensure that financial management reports are of proper form and content and convey correct financial results.
  • Coordinate the end user testing of all modules of the financial management system, as system upgrades occur.
  • Create systems documentation including business requirements, functional designs, user manuals, test scripts, test plans and training materials.
  • Configure, test, troubleshoot, document and maintain FLAC (Faculty Load and Compensation module) to include acting as a subject matter expert and provide user training.
  • Provide fiscal and calendar year-end functional support to include updating and maintaining configuration tables in Banner system, and tracking and implementing system upgrades.
