Overview :
The Career and Transfer Student Ambassador Student Employee collaborates with our team to craft engaging social media content.
They actively create across platforms, embodying enthusiasm to effectively engage our audience. This role enhances our initiatives' visibility, offering an exciting opportunity for students passionate about communication, social media, and career promotion.
Additionally, they will need to cover the lunch hour at the front desk.

Length of Employment : August 2024- May 2025, with opportunity to renew

Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes :
- Collaborate with the Career and Transfer Center team to create strong content for the center's social media communication plan (CM, TW, TC)
- Meet agreed- upon weekly deadlines for content creation. (PF)
- Write social media posts in collaboration with the Career and Transfer Center teammates. (CD, CM, TW)
- Assist staff with implementing events such as on-campus recruiting visits, open houses, hiring events, transfer fairs, and National Student Employment Week activities. (CM, TW)

Candidate Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Other abilities) :
- Must be currently enrolled at Oakton College in at least six credit hours during the Spring semester. Employment over the summer is allowed for students taking at least 1 credit class during the summer, or students continuing registration into the following Fall semester.
- Can show proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- At time of hire a minimum GPA of 2.0 or first semester enrolled at Oakton.
- Must be willing to appear in content on social media channels, including photos and video.
- Demonstrated reliability and responsibility.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Display strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills and the potential to develop these skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues.
- Creative thinker, energetic, enthusiastic.
