Mental Health Screener - Emergency Screening (Full Time Day), Lakewood, NJ

Job Overview :

The Mental Health Screener responds to the emotional needs of those requesting assistance through screening, assessment, crisis intervention, referral and outreach.

QUALIFICATIONS : Required :

Required :

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related clinical field required
• Certified New Jersey Mental Health Screener or immediately eligible within six months of hire required
• Two years’ experience in a mental health setting, preferably in crisis intervention / emergency services

Scheduling Requirements :

• Full-Time
• Day Shift
• 36 hours per week

Essential Functions :

• Brings all unusual situation, incidents or difficulties encountered to the provision of emergency services to the attention of the Director or his / her designate
• Facilitates voluntary / involuntary hospitalization of clients in accordance with the Emergency Services policies and procedures
• Fully documents all client contacts and submits in a timely manner
• Provides and completes all documentation records and forms as stipulated in the Emergency Services Department policies and procedures
• Provides crisis intervention, information, and referral services on the telephone, in the Emergency Room and throughout the community
• Provides weekend, evening, and holiday coverage depending on the program needs
• Performs all other duties as assigned
