Common intermediate care patient populations include but is not limited to Diabetic Ketoacidosis, sepsis, patients with tracheostomies / stable ventilators, respiratory complications requiring BiPAP or High Flow Nasal Cannula and post-surgical ENT patients.

The sister unit 6C is a neuro intermediate unit, overflow patients for 6A include stroke patients. The unit also has a intermediate cardiac units and may take overflow cardiac as well.

Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.

Current valid North Carolina nursing license or Multi-State / Compact required. One-year relevant experience, preferred.

In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
