Eye Associates of New Mexico has an outstanding career opportunity as a Patient Safety Liaison!

The Patient Safety Liaison is the first point of contact for larger clinic locations with multiple providers and departments.

Patients are warmly greeted and upon confirmation of a scheduled appointment they are screened as indicated and given directions to appointment location.

The Patient Safety Liaison will also observe the waiting rooms for any safety concerns for patients and employees and intercede as needed to assure a safe clinic environment.

Parking lots will be monitored (via telemetry) for safety concerns or suspicious activity.

Job Duties May Include :

  • Direct patients to appropriate area based on patient needs and waiting room availability.
  • Observe patient and employee interactions for high risk behavior including, raised voices, and aggressive language
  • Advise arriving law enforcement, emergency personnel, and vendors of appropriate areas and points of contact.
  • Monitor clinic and parking lot for safety concerns including but not limited to slips and falls, vehicular accidents and suspicious activity
  • Observe clinic for maintenance related safety issues, such as malfunctioning lights, leaks and spills, and patches of ice.
  • Reports or resolves safety issues as indicated in #7 and #8 above
  • The annual completion of assigned Learning Management System (LMS) courses is mandatory. Any individual who has not completed their assigned training prior to November 30th of each year may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Sort and distribute mail and packages.

Requirements / Skills :

  • Job requires high school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Good computer skills required.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a strong customer service orientation and excellent organizational skills.
  • Background in safety and security desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Bilingual (Spanish / English) preferred.
