Lending Manager

We are currently accepting applications for a Lending Manager based in our San Jose Corporate Office.
As our Lending Manager, your major responsibilities will include :
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of the consumer and real estate lending functions to ensure compliance with applicable lending regulations and established credit union policies and guidelines.
Establish processes, control and oversight to achieve and sustain lending operations efficiency and effectiveness.
Review loan applications periodically; monitor loan decisions over the underwriters’ limit; assist underwriters with challenging situations;
randomly review loans for underwriting consistency; and underwrite employee loan requests.
Provide support and guidance related to loan origination, processing and funding in the branch offices.
Serve as the subject matter expert for lending training purposes for branch and lending staff (new hire and ongoing training).
Manage the department’s third-party vendor relationships on a daily basis and serve as the primary point of contact.
Manage the indirect lending process including timely responses to dealers; follow up on underwriting conditions and stipulations needed to complete funding;
coordinate loan underwriting; support credit union car sales and provide indirect lending services. Manage dealer relationships on a daily basis.
Responsible for the coaching, counseling, performance evaluation, training, and supervision of assigned employees.
Assist in the development of the annual budget. Manage the department within the prescribed budgetary guidelines. Constantly strive for process improvement to achieve maximum efficiency.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to five years of consumer and real estate and underwriting experience, preferably in a credit union environment.
A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.
Minimum of three years previous management experience including oversight of multiple direct reports. Extensive knowledge of consumer lending (including indirect lending) processes, regulations, compliance and underwriting practices required.
General knowledge of mortgage lending (regulations, compliance and underwriting) strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal).
Ability to maintain confidentiality and conduct oneself with a high level of diplomacy and tact.
Pay Range : $106,000 - $132,000; based on skills and experience.
