As the Pediatric Institute Nursing Director, you will direct comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and patient-centered programs across the continuum and create a culture that promotes an environment of healing by focusing on the emotional and physical well-being of patients and caregivers.

Our Children's Hospital is located downtown on Main Campus. We also serve our patients at our Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation in Shaker Heights and Downtown.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has proven pediatric nursing leadership experience in a large academic medical center.
This role allows you to have a hand in leader selection and development, enhancing key service lines and driving strategy.
Responsibilities :
Directs comprehensive, multi-disciplinary, patient-centered programs.
Collaborates with senior nurse and physician leadership in strategic and operational planning related to current and future programs within the Institute.
Develops educational programs and resources to support best nursing practices and specialty needs of the Institute.
Leads and directs the inpatient and outpatient nurse managers in providing consultation and serves as a resource to staff regarding nursing practice.
Ensures nursing and clinical practice in accordance with philosophy, standards and objectives of the Cleveland Clinic.
Provides leadership and guidance to all employees in assigned areas.
Establishes and promotes a climate for excellence in nursing practice and ongoing professional development of practitioners.
Other duties as assigned.
Education :
Master's Degree in Nursing or related field required.
BSN required.
Certifications :
Current state licensure as an Registered Nurse (RN).
Complexity of Work :
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work autonomously.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience :
Five years recent nursing clinical practice to include at least two years healthcare management required.
Physical Requirements :
Requires the ability to sit and be stationary for prolonged periods of time, normal or corrected vision and manual dexterity sufficient to perform work on a personal computer.
Requires the ability to walk to various locations throughout the campus and to function in a stressful environment.
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly : activity or condition exists 2 / 3 or more of the time) to move objects.
Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work : (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree;
or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and / or pulling of arm or leg controls; and / or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and / or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
Note : The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.
