Inova Fairfax Hospital is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist Critical Care to join the team.
As a Pharmacist you will contribute to the quality and effective operation of the department. To help achieve our mission, you will ensure safe, appropriate, and cost-effective medication therapies for patients according to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Your ability to oversee all department activities pertaining to the preparation and dispensing of pharmaceutical preparations, in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and in compliance with the requirements of the Virginia Board of Pharmacy, is of vital importance.
Demonstrating proficiency in information systems (e.g., clinical information systems, automated dispensing systems and vault management systems) is required.
This is a full-time Monday Friday 40 hrs / week days / evenings with rotating shifts position.

Job Responsibilities :
- Completes and documents inspections of all assigned medication storage areas monthly.
- Identifies and replaces outdated / unusable drugs as documented on unit inspection forms.
- Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel.
- Verifies the daily activities of Pharmacy Technicians. Participates in the performance appraisal of Pharmacy Support personnel.
- Organizes and prioritizes work assignments. Ensures Pharmacy services are provided in a timely manner as evidenced by lack of complaints.

One (1) year working in a hospital as a Pharmacist.
Education :
- Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.
- PGY1 / PGY2 critical care residency preferred.
Certifications :
Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.
