Our Electrical Designer will work out of our C&I Business Unit, based out of our Grand Rapids, MI or Ontario, CA location.

The Designer is responsible for the assembly of design layouts, specifications, and drawing sets needed to support the sales, engineering and development, and construction departments.

Daily components of this role include drafting, product specification, product research, and the preparation of proposal, design and engineering, and construction resource documents.

This person will need to collaborate with team members to build positive working relationships, analyze and resolve solution design and assembly issues expediently, collaborate with peers to meet deadlines and identify supplier, contractor, and internal resources to successfully complete project development deliverables.

Target Salary : $75,000 - $100,000+ depending on experience

Electrical Designer Responsibilities :

  • Assist Sales to determine customers’ specific technical requirements, project scope, definition of work and product / system feature
  • With a focus on electrical design, primarily to support EV charging applications.
  • Conduct and / or perform the following activities and tasks :
  • Prepare drawing packages which contain Electrical, Civil & Structural drawings.
  • Communicate to third parties to assemble drawing packages.
  • Understand the requirements for Civil & Structural designs and drawings where applicable.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, including NEC, ADA, and local codes.
  • Coordinate with utilities.
  • Participate in site-surveys, pre-bid and pre-construction meetings as needed, including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and other drawings as required by project scope.
  • Create drawings needed for engineering and development, proposals, and construction.
  • Generate submittal packages (product data sheets; bill of materials; drawings, including layout and detail drawings, permit sets, ).
  • Maintain all internal documentation in a collaborative file sharing and storage environment.
  • Assist in large RFP and business development opportunities which will include creation of detailed submittal
  • Participate in quality control review of peer project development team
  • Any, and all ad hoc reporting, requests or other tasks deemed

Electrical Designer Qualifications :

  • Technical or Bachelor degree in electrical related field
  • 2+ years of relevant drafting design and detailing experience with EV Charging a plus
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Bluebeam or an equivalent
  • Experience understanding audit and field survey data and translating that into design documents and drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision under time sensitive
