About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : Surgical Intermediate Care - Step Down Job Duration : 13 Weeks Shift : Night 4x12-Hour (7 : 00 PM - 7 : 30 AM) Guaranteed Hours : See guidelines for details Experience : Minimum 1-year experience required License : Current active license required Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Strong Neuro Skills Job Description : Provide specialized nursing care in the Surgical Intermediate Care unit.
- Handle patient diagnoses including neurosurgeries, abdominal surgeries, and trauma.- Manage post-operative day 1 craniotomy and complex medical conditions.
- Administer treatments such as continuous BiPap, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips titration, insulin gtt, and arrhythmia management.
- Respond to stroke rapid response and sepsis cases.- Utilize telemetry, chest tubes, and manage surgical trauma.- Provide care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation and chronic condition management.
- Weekend requirement : Every third weekend.- Ability to float within the hospital to meet facility needs.- Open to potential block scheduling based on manager's discretion.
- Complete up to 8 hours of mandatory modules pre-assignment (not billable).- Adhere to hospital policies and protocols, maintaining high standards of care.
