Job Summary

As a Data Steward you will be responsible for running and maintaining the integrity, quality, and enforcement of the organization\'s data assets. This includes implementing and carrying out data governance policies, ensuring data quality, and managing metadata. Act as a bridge between technical teams and business users, ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and trustworthy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Quality Management : Implement and enforce data quality standards, monitor data quality metrics, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve data quality issues. Ensure data quality, addressing bias, navigating ethical considerations with data, and collaborating with other teams to leverage AI effectively.
  • Data Governance : Develop and maintain data governance policies, defining data ownership and stewardship roles, and ensuring compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Data Security and Privacy : Partner with Cybersecurity and Privacy areas of the business to ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, and monitor access controls and permissions.
  • Meta Data Management : Maintain metadata repositories and data dictionaries, document data lineage, definitions, and business rules.
  • Collaboration and Communication : Work with system owners, data owners, data analysts, data scientists, and business users to ensure data quality, data policies, accessibility, and usability.
  • Data Issue and Resolution : Investigate and resolve data-related issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Data Stewardship Policies : Develop and implement data stewardship policies and procedures.
  • Data Life Cycle Management : Run the entire data lifecycle from creation to archival.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS / BA or 3+ years of master data stewardship or customer operations experience (prefer healthcare)
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence Solutions and concepts
  • Additional Skills / Preferences

  • 3 years' hands-on experience with data processes, tools, techniques, and governance.
  • 3 years' hands-on experience working on cross-functional projects and / or teams related to data stewardship work
  • Experience with relational databases (conceptual and querying languages and tools), AI, machine learning, data transformation, data wrangling and cleansing solutions
  • Strong understanding and experience of data management principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in data quality management tools and techniques
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Self-starter and motivated mindset
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with data modeling and database concepts
  • Experience with data quality monitoring and reporting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with consent management architecture (match / merge rules, suspect rules, survivorship strategy)
  • Experience with identity systems, Reltio preferred

    Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is $61,500 - $143,000. Full-time employees are eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). Lilly offers a comprehensive benefits program including eligibility for a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and / or dependent care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).
