The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) performs direct patient care under the direct supervision of a RN or LPN / LVN or other licensed medical professional.

The CNA / NA performs a variety of individualized patient care activities and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comforts of patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Maintains patient confidentiality of all clientsPerforms duties within scope of practice, as assigned, in an accurate and timely mannerAdheres to facility / client policy, procedures and protocols at all timesAssists doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers with treatments, procedures, and tests being performed in a variety of patient care settingsSafeguards the client / patient by observing appropriate infection control procedures including but not limited to universal precautionsNotifies the supervising nurse of any abnormal findings or conditionsDemonstrates flexibility and adaptability in meeting the needs of all facilitiesOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements : Prefer one year experience as a certified nursing assistant within the last three yearsGraduate from certified nursing assistant program with subsequent documentation as a certified nursing assistant per state requirements with proof of verification as being an active certification and in good-standingKnowledge of medical terminology and knowledge of clerical functionsComplies with all relevant professional standards of practiceParticipation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable to job siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirementsAbility to effectively elicit / provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills;
